I am an Edmonton based counsellor born in London, Ontario. I completed my Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Social Work, before pursuing a Masters in Social Work with a Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary in 2009. I am a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) and am registered on the private practice roster.
In my 8 years of experience, I have worked with hundreds of clients from all walks of life, which has assisted me in building insight and a practical perspective regarding the struggles people face in their personal and professional life. Whether it is depression due to a situation at work, the loss of a friend or family member, emotional distress due to separation, addiction, or any other concern than may have the potential to impact mental health negatively, I can help.
My approach towards supporting my clients focuses largely on empowerment, that is fostering feelings of confidence and capability in regard to managing life. I encourage my clients to focus on the variables that they can control. This generates optimism, hope, and the understanding that each individual has the ability to positively impact their life.
